Continuing in Prayer.

In my first post I talked about 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that says that we should pray unceasingly to 'pray at all times'. Whatever we do each day, we can still pray. It should be natural conversation with God throughout our day. We can pray throughout the day and I find myself doing so more and more.

One way I find myself doing so is by just talking. I carry on a conversation just like I would be talking with any one of you. Sometimes this conversation can get very deep and other times can be very lighthearted. Sometimes I may even raise my voice in the heat of the moment. I may question things that are going on in my life and really vent when I think things are not going my way. But the Lord has big shoulders and accommodates me and then brings me back to His reality.

This year I decided that I will see this as a year of favor from the Lord. That no matter what comes my way or happens during the year that God has it happening to bring me to a better life with Him. One way that I started to do to remind myself of a prayer I used many years ago. It is more of a chant or song I sing to myself over and over. I guess you could call it my mantra, it goes like this: Father guide me, Jesus stand by me, Holy Spirit, open my mind and my heart to the Father's will.

It helps calm me down and brings me back to a focused kind of state that helps me see things in a different light. I know this coming year will have many new challenges for me to face, and prayer is the only way I will make it through. So here I am Lord, do with me as you see fit.
